Want your music reviewed?

With the help of M4tr Productions, we have begun creating a website dedicated to reviewing artists on ReverbNation . Each review will have the artist's link widget and player on it. It is early days yet but if you would like a review on SystemCulture.org then contact us via the website. Send us about 250 words about yourself and we will load it up with our review. This should promote us all and benefit everyone.

Here are a few we have already done

Still Available from Electro Arc

Review:
...As the stony voice and slithering guitar move deliciously over the stark beat and disdainful bass 'Where Is My Jesus' creeps about imperiously and carries a chorus like a sodden flag. You'll be hooked into its quicksand embrace quickly enough...

Stream Lounge (Music Maniacs Home)

We have just joined Stream Lounge ( http://stream-lounge.ning.com ) This is a fantastic site for listening to electronic music with a really heavy, mean attitude.

You can also join up and create your own profile. Tracks on there include stuff from the Eletro Arc stable with artists like Code Machine, First Aid 4 Souls, Homicide Division etc. You must go for a listen!

Obvious!

We have put up another track: Obvious, which is a very sad love song (sentimental, self indulgent rubbish really). Have a listen and if it makes you puke.....we apologise.

We have recently got back from 'Chagstock Festival' where Jake played (supporting 'Squeeze') in his other band 'Dastards'. It was a great weekend and was the first time I have ever stayed in a Tepee. It was an enormous thing about 18 feet high and would sleep eight comfortably - Must do it again. The Dastards were one the stars of the show - a great (brief) performance. Next stop 'Fahrenheit Festival' in Cambridge (7,8 and 9 August)

Another video from the Chagstock Festival.

The sun came out and shone on the assembled crowd.

We are really behind on replying to emails and stuff so forgive us if we haven't replied...

Music to die for

It was a pleasant surprise to find This Window mentioned in a classic book about the history of music. Mick Mercer has compiled a remarkable directory of bands that have been inspired or are inspired by the post-punk Goth phenomena. This book contains discographies and web links (plus a load of other stuff).

Music to Die For

...the postman arrived and I have sat here for the past hour or so thumbing through and reading the pages. It was a great relief to find out that I could still read the printed word - my dependence on visual and aural spoon fed pap via MySpace has been cured. The logical cataloguing of this tome is a truly important achievement and it is a relief to be able to find something (in alphabetical order) easily. The only warning I must give is - beware of the photographs, there are some ugly mugs in there. You have to get this book it is more than just a simple list, it is a Bible.…

M4tr Productions

Why not visit our label page M4tr Productions. With a little bit of luck there should be some interesting developments happening soon, with new releases coming out from different artists. (M4tr is a small UK independent, alternative, music label that was formed in 1985. The majority of the bands/artists featured are from Europe.)
