...well that is the theory

Perfect Specimen

The links between writing an interesting song and creating a perfect beast are closer than you think. Genetics is the study of genes; the building blocks of all living things. By selecting the best genes available you stand a better chance of breeding a world beater. By using the best combination of noises and sounds you may end up creating a successful tune. Well that is the theory

Extraction now on iTunes

It took 20 years to get this re-released. 'Extraction' was recorded for EE-Tapes of Belgium in 1989; the version available on iTunes, Amazon, Napster etc. is a remix by Jake Bright. Part of the original recording was made in a bathroom and features Nicola Mumford (the vocalist of Finish The Story) and Veronica Henry, the vocalist on 'Hope' an earlier 'This Window' release.

When it was first released it recieved loads of critical acclaim:

THIS WINDOW -"EXTRACTION" EE Tapes ET06 available from EETapes. From the same sonic team that brought you the wonderful "Jude The Obscure" cassette, roars this excellent musclebound experimental soundscapes & music collages. "Extraction" proves conclusively that they are no mere flash in the pan, with 'songs' that sting in the face,& playing that flays the senses raw. I clearly prefer This Window to any other current state of the artmixers that are presently popular.
